Intertwined Candles was founded by a group of women whose lives were wonderfully intertwined with refugees here in Clarkston and wanted to seek change. The candles are handmade by refugee women living in Clarkston, Georgia, using repurposed glass bottles and all-natural soy wax.
For decades, people from over 140 countries have come to Clarkston to escape war and other unimaginable circumstances. Despite very different backgrounds, the refugee women of Clarkston impacted the lives of a small group of American women. As their hearts and lives were woven together, Intertwined Candles was born so that the light of their friendship could shine in your life, too!
Grace Village has an English class for new Americans on Mondays and Fridays from 12-1:30pm. If you are interested in volunteering with childcare, please email Tisha.
We believe the best way to cultivate the next generation in working toward flourishing is learning from one another and connecting one’s story to a bigger narrative. This summer program invites middle and high school students to apply creative skills in areas like photography, graphic design and film and learn more about their identities, cultures and how these two help shape their story.
Information on next summer’s program will be released in April.
We help to provide free professional counseling to refugees who are recovering from traumatic situations and/or are dealing with emotional or family issues. In addition we mentor/disciple people in the refugee community both individually and as families. To setup your initial visit, please email our therapist.
